Falling Walls Labs 2015 across Africa

The Falling Walls Lab is an innovative format for academic institutions to showcase the quality, diversity and passion of their next generation of top researchers.

Falling Walls Lab

In 3-minute talks, up to 100 young scientists present their research projects to their peers, the general public and a distinguished jury – promoting ideas and fostering interdisciplinary networks. Top rated academic institutions worldwide are invited to host their own Falling Walls Lab and to send their winners to the Falling Walls Lab Finale on 8 November 2015 in Berlin – the eve of the peaceful fall of the Berlin Wall. All finalists are invited to attend the Falling Walls Conference on 9 November 2015. The 3 most intriguing presenters win cash prizes and speak at the Falling Walls Conference – side by side with some of the most prominent researchers worldwide.

In 2014, Falling Walls Labs – an innovative format for outstanding young researchers, entrepreneurs and scholars not older than 35 years of age – took place in 18 academic partner institutions in 15 countries. This year, the Falling Walls Foundation is planning to further expand the Falling Walls Lab on a global scale with 22 confirmed Labs so far.
