END POVERTY IN KENYA 2015

What has impressed me about Kenya’s efforts to reduce poverty ::

  •  First and foremost I would like to thank the Honorable President of Kenya Mr. Uhuru Kenyatta for re-launching the National Youth Service in Kenya. The National Youth Service aims at equipping the youth with skills and also providing internship opportunities for them hence gaining working experience. Together with the National Youth Service he organized a clean-up of informal settlements in Kibera Slum which aimed at improving sanitation, security and living conditions of the citizens living in Kibera.
  • In order to improve maternal and child health outcomes in the country, the First Lady of Kenya, Margaret Kenyatta launched the ‘Beyond Zero Campaign’ on 24 January in Kenya’s capital Nairobi.
