Africa Works Ghana Limited congratulates African women on the occasion of International Women’s Day

Accra/Ghana, 8 March 2012 – Africa Works – Ghana Limited joins the rest of the world to celebrate and congratulate all women especially African women for the enormous contribution they continue to make in the fields of agriculture, business, politics, sports, health and the arts and the sacrifices they make for the advancement of families and societies.

On this day of International Women’s Day, we recognize the strides we have made as Africans to promote gender equality and empower women yet we acknowledge that there is more work to be done and that women have the right to develop themselves in pursuit of their social and economic aspirations”, Chief Executive Officer of Africa Works – Ghana Ltd, Dr. Foster Ofosu stated in his message on International Women’s Day.

We therefore call on like-minded organizations and individuals who share our vision of becoming leaders at the forefront of economic and social empowerment in Africa to be gender responsive, respect women’s contribution and engage women more and more for better results through sustainable economic activities”, he added.

Our support to Events Management Africa Ltd. and our partnership with Virtuous Women of Cosmos Impact Ventures is testament of our commitment to support initiatives driven by women in Ghana. We will continue to respect women’s right to a decent living, to proper training and skill development and ample opportunity for personal growth and economic empowerment”, he stated.

Miss Vivien Atobra, Administrative Manager of Africa Works Ltd. affirmed her support for women and stated, “I am proud of everything women have achieved and how they participate in the search for social and economic development”. “It is important to recognize and celebrate our women heroes past, present and to come”, she added.
